About Us

We are a full service, independent moving company founded by Paul Clark. Our origins begin in Morristown back in 1957 when Paul bought three trucks and leasing warehouse for customer storage. By 1963, he had acquired a second warehouse facility. The business had grown to fourteen trucks and forty-one employees. In 1969, the state started rebuilding Route 287 through Morristown and both warehouses were demolished to make way for the new construction. At this point, he sold his moving company and moved to Hunterdon County. However, Paul was not finished with the moving industry. In 1980, Paul established Paul’s Transfer Company, which has been working in Hunterdon County and the surrounding areas ever since.

In the fall of 2003, Steve Leap became the president and owner of Paul’s Transfer Company, giving Paul a much-needed retirement. Shortly thereafter, Steve continued his post-graduate studies, while maintaining hands-on operation in the business. By 2011, Steve Leap stepped down and Andrew Wertz became the president and owner. Paul’s Transfer continues to maintain excellence in service and in ethics, standing as one of the few moving companies that operates honestly and ethically. Paul’s Transfer Company looks forward to serving the residents of Hunterdon County, Warren County, and all the surrounding areas for years to come.


